This started as a warm up sketch...it did not end as a warm up sketch
Fun fact: Rory the Bird Dragon breathes fire. I have not decided if he is fireproof yet or not. Normally, dragons are (or else they would run into a lot of issues) but it would be an interesting problem of his if he could breathe fire but also catch on fire if he wasn't careful.
Yes, this is a color palette sketch. Sort of kind of, I added some brighter colors to help emphasize the fire. So, /inspired/ by the color palette thing.
